Sophwick Academy

Privacy policy

Last updated 3 November 2026

Sophwick Academy (sophwickacademy.com) is a free revision website. You can use all of it without an account, and we collect as little information as we can. This page explains what we do collect and why.

Sophwick Academy is run by PLACEHOLDER: your name or business name, and UK postal address if you have one for the business, who is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us at hello@sophwick.com.

What we collect

When you visit the site

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which topics are popular. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not tell us who you are. Visits are recognised only within a single day, using a temporary value that is then discarded. We see totals, such as how many people viewed a page and which country or type of device they used.

Like any website, the companies that host and deliver the site handle your IP address so that pages and files can reach your device, and they keep short-lived server logs for security:

When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. Our address is on the sophwick.com domain, so your email arrives in the same inbox as Sophwick Tuition's. We use it only to reply to you. We keep emails for as long as we need them for that, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

Cookies and local storage

The site does not set any cookies. If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device so the site remembers it next time. It is never sent to us.

We may show adverts in future to help keep the site free. If we do, we will ask for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are used, and we will update this page first.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we process this information because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure, working website and replying to people who contact us.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site is designed for secondary school students and doesn't ask anyone to sign up or give personal information.

Sophwick Tuition

Links to one-to-one lessons go to Sophwick Tuition at sophwick.com, a separate website with its own privacy policy. What you do on Sophwick Academy, such as the pages you view, is not shared with it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
